Very good German cuisine. We ate schnitzel, it was really nice. No fast food. Everything is fresh and handmade with fresh ingredients. It takes a little longer, of course, but it's definitely worth it. The inn itself is a bit old, but very well-kept and clean. The service is nice and attentive. We will be back.

Discovered by "chance", it was worth coming here. The food was very tasty, schnitzel with geb. Maultaschen and Kässpätzle, finally regional dishes that you would otherwise have to look for. We will be back in 3 or 4 weeks (about 380 km). A recommendable restaurant where you will be welcomed very friendly.

The food is really great. Don't understand the complainers here. If they have something to do with something they should go somewhere else. What are they actually expecting.

Very good food, especially inexpensive lunch, cozy and everything made with love. I do not understand all the critics, I am also rather demanding myself, but also very happy that after all the changes of ownership and a long vacancy, EVERYONE dares to run HERE / this beautifully located restaurant. You can also be overly critical! Give these brave people a chance! I'm really looking forward to the warmer days and the tables outside in front of the bar under umbrellas - so cozy! So I can only recommend the restaurant "Roter Ochsen"! - - And if there should be any reason for criticism, the best way to clarify this is with the operators of the locality. Everyone knows how quickly word of mouth can push or destroy something.

Typical German restaurant, clean and cozy. The food tasted good to us. The toilets are old but well kept. We will be back for sure!

We were there for two and unfortunately both had eaten the same. After that we both had stomach upset and diarrhea for 1 week. Too bad ... because we found it otherwise nice there. But due to our subsequent experiences, I can only advise against. We touch the potato salad which did not look really fresh.

Underground. For 9 people was reserved. The first meal, schnitzel with fries, was served after 1.5 hours wait. The turkey meat was raw inside, and the side dish was 6 min. served after the main course. Until everyone had their food it took a total of 2 hours to order.

A star is already too much. Long waited for the food and did not come at the same time. The turkey escalope, 2, - € more, was not durchgebraten at several The drinks would not be enough. This red ox is not recommended I could have saved me the 100 km.

Honest cuisine with very fine dishes, which were fresh and crafted perfectly. The host was very friendly and the atmosphere in the restaurant comfortable. We were previously at the castle Neuenbürg and then went down the beautiful path to the market square, where also the red ox is, that's really worthwhile.

The food is really good and well-tasting. We had a salad and a "Strammer Max" and the food arrangement was done with love to the detail! You can sit outside (we did, due to smoking is allowed) or sit inside. The food came a little bit slow even though we were the only guests outside. Also the staff is a little bit shy in getting in contact with guests, but anyway we will go there again :-)

We were here a few months ago, now again after a hike and I have to say, still very good. Now also with an outdoor beer garden. I can only recommend the ox, someone who is looking for good plain food with very good cuisine and service is in good hands here.

I'm working in the region professionally and stop there every now and then. Rustic ambience with a sunny beer garden. I always ate well there.
